First 3rd party candidate for US House in Georgia this year?

A Georgia Libertarian, Jay Fisher, will make a serious attempt to become the first political party nominee (other than a Democrat or Republican) to appear on the ballot for U.S. House of Representatives from Georgia in the last 63 years. In 1943 Georgia enacted a law that requires minor party and independent candidates for U.S. House to submit a petition signed by 5% of the registered voters in that district. No independent has managed this since 1964, and no minor party nominee has ever done it. Jay Fisher is a Deputy Attorney General, an activist in LEAP (Law Enforcement Personnel Against Prohibition), and was a paramedic while attending law school. He needs campaign contributions to cope with the requirement that he collect 15,000 valid signatures from the 6th district. His address is 3013 Mulberry St., Marietta Ga 30066.

If he succeeds, there will be publicity about the petition requirement, which will help garner support for easing the requirement.

  1. Does this guy have a website. If he does qualify the 6th will have 4 candidates. The one term incumbent Tom Price (R), John Konop(R) a Financial Industry Marketing Executive, Steve Sinton (D)who works in radio and was one of the creators of Air America.
I live in this district and I am glad to see more then one person running. Usually we just get to vote for another term for the incumbent, at least we will have a choice this time.

  2. Kyle,

I did not ask who you supported, just your feedback. Being an officer of the Cherokee Democrat Party, you must have a political opinion.
    Thanks jk

  3. Kyle,

I am sorry if you thought I was asking for your help. I was just, wondering what is your opinion, since I have been so outspoken about both parties destroying the middle class. Thanks jk

  4. Kyle.

Flat wages for 80% of Americans.

Healthcare cost growing 4 times faster then wages.

College cost and childcare cost 2 to 3 times faster then wages.

Savings rate for American famlies went from 11% TO NEGATIVE 1 %.

ALL OF THIS AFTER BOTH PARTIES GAVE US NAFTA. What would you call it other then the war against the middle class. The lobbyist bought both parties.

  5. You don’t have to site numbers to me. Spent the last 4 yrs in college earning BA in Government so I am aware of the facts.

I am aware many people aren’t fans of NAFTA, but I am not one of them

  6. The biggest economic problem the U.S. has today is the way the current adminstration runs the economy.
The main reason I support NAFTA and similar agreements is because of the way I view international relations. The more the economies of various countries are linked the less likey those countries are to go to war with each other.

and Yeah I know the U.S. and Canada weren’t likely to fight a war with each other before NAFTA.

  7. Kyle,
It is Communist China not Canada that we are 1 trillion in the red with.

Mexico and Central America are run by drug cartels, not like Canada.

Since the poor trade deals the radicals keep winning the elections in Central America , not happy with the sweatshops. This kills your war theory. It is not how much we trade, it is if you are helping the poverty rate in that country.

We can not compete with 50 cent an hour child slave labor. This is killing the middle class.

Bill Clinton and George Bush were given warnings by Ross Perot.Read for yourself

We need trade ,it just has to be a level playing field. And it can not be a tool to kill the middle class.

You can not Buy more products than you sell it is that simple. How you fix it is another issue. That is why you should read controlcongress.com. By the way Your guy Clinton is even cracking on the issue. Thanks jk

  8. what does NAFTA have to do with China? nothing. We do need to change our trade relationship with China. that does have a negative impact on our economy. I know Perot’s stand on these issues but never been swayed by hsi arguments. only thing I really agree with him is the need to balance the budget

  9. and that international relation theory is not mine but a main strand of thought in international realtions and so far history has proved this theory correct
