  1. San Diego Municipal Complex’s Golden Hall. Election night June 2006. The personal memories
of past disasters are bad enough. Tonight I feel positively sick! (Negatively well?)

The post election ‘Media Centrals’ across our once great nation may very well be the beating
heart of American democracy. But the older I get (and more to it, the older I feel), such
thumpings rattle with in a brain dead housing. Is this ‘Flat Line City’ for our Body Politic? Is the
Republic, after defeating the Kaiser, the Nazis, and the long gone Soviet Union, in more trouble
    than ever?

Another election night of adults in matching baseball shirts and Birthday Party hats. New Year
Eve horns and Mardi Gra noise makers make their entrance from every corner of the Red, White
and Blue. The rectangular hall is now rounded from all the organizational booths and media
    platforms.

Innocent enough you say? Merely a traveling circus with a civic agenda? Say is that Viet Nam air
ace “Duke” Cunningham loping around the crowd like the U of Missouri Physical Education
major he once was? Nope, former Congress Member “Puke” is in prison garb on the East Coast,
replaced by one of the few Californians to be unelected in recent years. The new guy’s former
occupation (after a ‘dignified’ public office and then rushing to his Moma’s house just in time to
qualify for residency) : Washington, DC Lobbyist! Make that: carpetbagging Washington, DC
    Lobbyist!

Do those supposedly ‘backward’ folk in the Middle East know about this seamy and unseemly
side of Non Parliamentary democracy? And those current ‘geniuses’ in government offices want to
export this illogical madness? No wonder that the world hates us! False advertisement on top of a
faulty product! Iran, Iraq, Afganistan: run, run the other way, sprint while you can!

Has the need for reform ever been greater that in San Diego County as the sun appears on
Wednesday June 7th? Things seem worse, not better, after deposing of Bilbray (the first time
around), federal felon Cunningham, ‘one of the worst mayors in the nation’ (San Diego’s Dick
Murphy), the second recalled state governor in national history (Gray Davis, 2003) and two of the last two District
    Attorneys!

DonLake@sbcglobal.net a reform minded citizen in San Diego County…….and current president of “My Country is going to Hell in a shabby hand basket Club…….”
