  2. MORE KANSAS: Leadership and Vision in Topeka!

The Reform Party of Kansas held its convention on June 3, 2006 in Maple Hill, Kansas and chose Richard Ranzau to be its candidate for governor in the upcoming general election to be held in November.

Richard, a physician assistant from Wichita and a Veteran of the Iraq and Persian Gulf Wars, provides the voters of Kansas a true alternative to politics as usual. He sought the Reform party nomination because he, like most Kansans, is tired of the continuous partisan bickering that causes our government to be ineffective, corrupt, and unresponsive to the needs of the people.

“We must begin a true grass-roots effort to return the people to the government and the government to the people. The citizens of Kansas deserve a Governor with a vision to improve the lives of average Kansans, and the leadership abilities to secure that vision.”

Ranzau says that waiting for the federal government to do something about illegal immigration and our dependence on foreign oil is foolish. He believes that Congress and the President have clearly demonstrated that they lack the will to address these issues in any meaningful way.

His vision involves doing what we can to tackle these problems on the state level. It requires a governor with a “can-do” attitude, initiative, and willingness to tackle tough issues. Photo-ops, kissing babies, and taking a wait-and-see approach is for politicians, not leaders.

As the next Governor of Kansas, Ranzau will also work to reduce the tax burden on hard-working Kansans, create a positive environment for small businesses to survive and flourish, and restore fiscal responsibility to the state government.

He supports a conservative and constitutional approach to government, and will resist the efforts of the federal government to interfere in the affairs of the State and the lives of Kansans.

Ranzau also believes, as our Founding Fathers did, that the role of government is to protect the right of its citizens, not take them away. Subsequently, he will issue an executive order halting the abuse of eminent domain until an amendment to the Kansas Constitution is approved.

Kansas has a tremendous opportunity this November to send a powerful message to the “good ol’ boys” of the two party system. It is time to end the politics as usual routine. Take some time to learn more about the candidate and the issues, and then decide if you want more of the same – or if you are ready for a change.

Vote for Reform in November! Vote RANZAU for Governor!
