New Centrist Party Attempts to Qualify in South Carolina; Uses Name “American Party” — No Comments

  1. Isn’t there another very tiny Christian conservative political party called the American Party?

  2. This coalition does not quite reject the two-party monopoly. It “cures” the left-right party problem by creating yet another political party. It does correctly go for problem-solving and does recognize the moderate voter majority. Moderates who want problems solved have the numbers to win every election. Every election! What would solve the problem is building structure to provide ballot access to the moderate majority so moderates can elect replacements for all career incumbent Ds and Rs. That would make problem solving at least possible. Check out the Independent Voters Alliance (IVA) on the Free Tools page at my website linked to my name. This is a “non-party” approach to winning elections to take the leadership away from the two-party monopoly.

  3. IVA is just promoting
“top two” election systems. Which it is clear only further entrench the two majority parties. This is no answer to anything except how to further lock into place the two elitist political duopoly.

  4. Isn’t the South Carolina branch of the Constitution Party the American Party? I believe it’s the only American Party branch from Governor Wallace’s 1968 campaign. (Not including the AIP branches.)

  5. The Constitution Party in South Carolina uses the name “Constitution Party.” South Carolina lets qualified parties change their names. So it let the Natural Law Party change its name to the Green Party, when the Natural Law Party decided to stop being a party. The Natural Law Party activists were just doing a favor to the Green Party; they weren’t active inside the new ballot-qualified Green Party of South Carolina. It was just a gift.
