Business Insider magazine here has data on the number of criminal convictions of public officials, on a per capita basis. The analysis shows that Louisiana is the most corrupt state and South Carolina is the least corrupt state.

As a South Carolinian, I can only guess that prosecutors are just reluctant to bring their brother-in-law’s cousin’s boyfriend up on charges because it would look bad in church.

Probably the dumbest correlation of data masquerading as “analysis” that I’ve ever seen.
If in a hypothetical state the entire law enforcement system, including cops, investigators, prosecutors and judges, had been well and truly bought by a completely corrupt legislature and executive office, what would the “corrupt” quotient be, regardless of population?
