Two New Polls Put Robert Sarvis Above 10% in Virginia Gubernatorial Race — No Comments

  1. The Bearing Drift poll is rather old now, and the Zogby poll actually had him at 12.7% (and even a Zogby press release I read stated it as 13% since it wasn’t using decimals).

One has to wonder if Rasmussen is secretly anti-Sarvis, for a long time they wouldn’t include him, and then when they finally did in their last poll, they still had an option for “someone else” even though there is no one else on the ballot. Sarvis only had 6% while “someone else” had 2% – I doubt that many people will cast a write-in.

  2. It would be nice to think Mr. Sarvis could poll in double digits. Since both major party nominees are more slimy than usual (who would have thought THAT possible!) it would be a real wake up call to “politics as usual”.

  3. People often hate the two major candidates and we’ll say they will vote the 3rd person, but often those voters just vote for lessor of the two main candidates. Hopefully that won’t be the case.

  4. This is an example of why it is important for minor party and independent candidates to run for office. Even if the odds are stacked against them for winning, it is still a good opportunity for them to get their message out.

I spoke to Rob Sarvis and I asked him if he supported the concept of fully informing juries about their right to judge not only the facts in a case, but also the validity of the law itself, and if he believes that jurors have a right to nullify bad laws. He said that he does support this. I then suggested that he make this a frequent talking point during his campaign because this is something that can be effective even if he does not win. He said that he agreed with me on this point as well.

Does anyone know if he is talking about jury nullification? If he is not, he is wasting a good opportunity to get this important and effective message out to a lot of people.
