The New York Times has a story on Donald Trump’s past political activity involving presidential elections. It mentions that Gary Johnson was on the ballot in 48 states in November 2012. Many otherwise well-informed politics reporters in recent weeks have told me that they had no idea the Libertarian nominee was on the ballot in that many states. Some of them didn’t even know that Ross Perot and John Anderson were also on the ballot in all states. Thanks to Rick Hasen for the link.

That level of ignorance by these so-called politics reporters is almost too much to believe. Almost. It makes me think of Orwell’s Oceania, where Ignorance is Strength to the totalitarian Establishment.

i.e. about ZERO analysis of the effects of all sorts of current laws.
i.e. just add more laws to fix the latest disaster problems caused by earlier laws.
I absolutely believe the reporters did not know of 3rd party candidates.
They are paid to be intentionally ignorant and to misinform the public.
