Albany, California, Moves Closer to Using Instant Runoff Voting for City Elections

On October 27, the Albany (California) Charter Review Committee voted 4-0 to recommend to the city council that the city use Instant Runoff Voting for its city elections. Albany is in Alameda County, where three other cities already use IRV for their city elections. Thanks to Preston Jordan for this news.

  1. IRV in single winner districts is no good and should be avoided at all costs.

    Top Two is a better idea than IRV in single-winner districts.

    If you would like to see advanced elections, the most mathematically exact pure proportional representation (PR) which generates team psychology in every election then check out the 9th USA Parliament.

    We’ve been using PR for more than twenty conseutive years and it works fine.

    MP Ralph Nader [Independent] agreed to be elected to our in 1994 team before he was a candidate for President in 1996.

    Google derived their ideas for logo, page rank and other aetistic qualities because of us but they didn’t get it right.
