Recently, Franklin Graham, son of Billy Graham and head of the Billy Graham organization, said he has left the Republican Party and re-registered as an independent. He recommends that other Christians run for office outside of the two major parties. In 2012 Franklin Graham and Billy Graham had endorsed Mitt Romney for President. The Graham organization is headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina. North Carolina has very severe petition requirements for candidates who run outside the two major parties.
The cause of the decision was the recent action of Congress in passing the omnibus spending bill which retained funding for Planned Parenthood, and generally increased federal spending. See this story. Thanks to several people for this news.
Dear Franklin Graham,
I am an absolute no one who now resides in Hawaii but I hoped you would have time to read my suggestion and give some thought to it. My idea begins with a crowed of decently honorable people on BOTH sides of a High School or college Football field this fall. Because of your resources and connections I had hoped that you would either consider this plan or expound on it so we can ALL make a difference in our “what USE to be” wonderful country. My plan would be to form a group of concerned people who are as sick and tired of our country being run by idiots and some groups promoting the most dastardly behaviors in our history, such as abortion to sell baby parts, many women posing or flaunting their bodies in “see through” gowns, our politicians faulting each other and not being able to continue with law suits against someone who was responsible for the deaths of several people because if the suit went any further the rug would be pulled out from under the accusers and their skeletons would be brought out of the closet to show they were no more worthy of the high position they have than the person being accused, the language in movies AND even on the internet. I am sick to death of it all and want with all my heart to take back out country. To begin my hope for America would be to have marchers on every single high school and college football field in America waving signs that we want our country back, if you are offended or don’t like the idea of decent, respectable, God honoring America, then GET OUT WHILE YOU STILL CAN! I know with all my heart that you totally understand but I have NO idea how to begin. I’m an old retired Rural Carrier getting ready to celebrate my 80th birthday this Dec. and I would love to leave this world when I go HOME in at LEAST the same shape I found it when I joined the cast.
