Better for America Says it has Enough Valid Signatures in New Mexico

On July 7, Better for America issued a press release saying it has enough valid signatures in New Mexico. However, the press release turned out to be inaccurate. This post has been re-written. The original post said the Secretary of State had verified the petition, but that was not true.

Better for America Says it has Enough Valid Signatures in New Mexico — 7 Comments

  1. They weren’t quoted in the article as naming them, but they did say the 25 states by the end of this month were “the total number we can be on without having an actual candidate”.

  2. While certainly impressive, unless they have a candidate to *put* on the ballot in those states and *run* in the General Election, especially a notable candidate capable of sharing the spotlight, I believe it will prove as successful as the Americans Elect effort, or Unity ’08.

  3. Americans Elect got on the ballot in 29 states and then didn’t ever actually select a nominee.

  4. If the Party for Socialism and Liberation candidate gets cross nominated by the Peace and Freedom Party, it seems like they actually stand a chance to get ballot access to more than 270 votes

  5. Does anyone know where else Better For America is petitioning now? They are claiming they will have ballot access in 25 states by August 1st, yet I cannot find evidence of them running petition drives in a bunch of states.
