Nebraska Libertarian State Senator is Helping Build Her New Political Party — 14 Comments

  1. I think Ebke is the only one of the Libertarian Party state legislators who has a reasonable chance of winning re-election, largely due to the non-partisan nature of the nebraska legislature. Her seat isn’t up for re-election until 2018 if i’m reading my sources correctly.

  2. I know someone who lived Falls city Nebraska an un.claimed relative who doesn’t vote and is ignorant about the Libertarian party .No kidding .He Thought Tim McVeigh the Oklahoma city bomber and his friend Terry Nichols were members of the Libertarian party. And Ron Paul was the founder of the Libertarian party and directed the Oklahoma city bombing .Worse he thought Ron Paul was the founder of both the branch Dravidians and a small religious sect that was actually founded by Michael Ryan who is serving life in Prison for two murders on a farm his sect lived on in Full Nebraska. This claimed Relative is an alcoholic to .

  3. He thought the Libertarian party was a Texas party and founded in Texas to .He thinks the Libertarian party is a religious cult and Ron Paul is the cult Leader. Now after seeing this posting holler LoL .This is a true story .So if you lived in Falls city Nebraska and Knew Rick Hardenberger this relative laugh in his face when he visits .He claimed he saw this information on the News .He actually watched the old tabloid tv show Hard copy and believed the phony story’s about the Oklahoma city bombing. Also sensational stories about the militia movement at the time back in 95.

  4. This same person my unclaimed relative thinks the Libertarian party are also in involved in forcibly rape against its female members .So he thinks the Libertarian party is a Texas based dooms day cult .He also thinks the Government has the right to go after Religious organizations and Leaders like David Koresh and kill arrest and imprisoned their members .So he thinks the Government was right to go after the Branch Dravidians in Waco Texas areas with out know all the facts and history .So if your a Libertarian in Southeast Nebraska next week go to Falls city and around Richardson County and promote the Libertarian party to those who do have a brain .This unclaimed relative is an alcoholic sex pervert and brain dead on politics and economics .He couldnt out wit a high brow intellectual at Creighton university in Omaha or The university of Nebraska in Lincoln .Or the state Senator representing Richardson County Nebraska. So let’s educate the people of Richardson County who dont pay attention.

  5. Michael Ryan’s religious sect was in the rural area of Rulo. Nebraska in Richardson’ county across the Missouri border on the Missouri River . Remember that case .

  6. McVeigh the libertarian –

In 2001 PETA tried to have McVeigh put on a vegan diet. PETA told the warden “Mr. McVeigh should not be allowed to take even one more life.” The warden of the prison refused, so PETA appealed directly to McVeigh to have his last meal be vegan. McVeigh wrote a letter back to PETA which said:

“Truth is, I understand your cause – I’ve seen slaughter houses myself – but I still believe in reasonable taking and eating of game (as an outdoorsman and hunter)…

“My one main problem with the ‘veg’ movement is this (besides the fact I’m a libertarian): Where do you draw the line and what standard is used to define that line? Those that are in it for the health benefits accept poultry and fish as edible. Where do those opposed to suffering stand? (Ever see a fish struggling out of water?) What about grubs/worms/etc.? (that chick on ‘Survivor 2.’) And finally, plants are alive too: they react to stimuli (including ‘pain’); have circulatory systems, etc.; so how about them? … To me, the answer is as the Indians believed: respect for the life you take to sustain yourself, but come to terms with your place in the ‘food chain’.

“You should have seen the local editorial response to your letter. You gotta remember, this is meat-eatin’ farm country; still, good job getting the attention to your cause (like protesting dead rats on ‘Survivor’)…. I cannot sustain a prolonged intellectual debate on the subject as my time is short, but I’d suggest hitting Ted Kaczynski up for his opinions on the subject.”

Based on that one comment about McVeigh being a libertarian with regard to vegetarianism and taking the life of an animal, along with an unsubstantiated rumor that McVeigh voted for Harry Browne in 1996, until 2010 wikipedia declared that “McVeigh self-identified as a libertarian.”

    McVeigh was a registered Republican.

McVeigh’s last meal was 2 pints of mint chocolate chip ice cream. PETA declared “Mr. McVeigh’s decision to go vegetarian groups him with some of the world’s greatest visionaries, including Albert Schweitzer, Mohandas Gandhi, Leo Tolstoy and Albert Einstein, all of whom advocated vegetarianism as an extension of humanitarianism.”

  7. The Nebraska Libertarian party needs to explain to voters in Nebraska that they are not a Right-wing party or a religious party .For years I had people try to say the Libertarian party is also associated with political extremist LyndoLarouche.Nothing Libertarian abo Lyndon Larouche. So much misinformation. And the media is no help .Also Michael Ryan who is serving life in a Nebraska prison identified with Christian Identity before he renounced it in prison . Christian Identity is not exactly Libertarianism .

  8. I shared that to show that there is ignorance among some who are actually highschool drop outs about politics .You could guess what there mind was on .

  9. William Sollenberger… Libertarianism is wholly incompatible with Religion.

    https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Romans+13&version=NKJV

Romans 13: “1 Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. 2 Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves.”

So according to the bible, one who is religious must not under any circumstances take part in government or question their government.

  10. That’s sounds like Jehovah witnesses thinking about Government .Don’t get involved or question there Government .There Government is the Watchtower tract and Bible society headquarters in Brooklyn New York .Now a Libertarian party member from Nebraska should respond to the above article about a surge in Nebraska

  11. AMcCarrick – I’ve read that Romans 13 is subject to interpretation because the wording in Greek has multiple meanings. Interpreted another way, it could be saying that no authority is legitimate unless it comes from God (and everyone is subject to THAT authority.) Which makes more sense. Obviously those old Christians didn’t recognize the legitimacy of a government that nailed them to crosses.

  12. The current MI Libertarian chair nominated a child abuser for Congress four years ago. Surely that violates the NAP.
