Nevada Bills for a Presidential Primary Fail to Advance, and are Now Dead

Except in 1976, Nevada has never had a presidential primary. This year, attempts were made by some legislators to establish presidential primaries for Nevada, but neither bill passed, and it is now too late for them to pass. They were AB 293 and SB 211. See this story.

  1. Interesting how standing in national party politics outweighs increased voter participation. Democratic majority killed these bills. They killed an opt-out bill last session in 2015 when in the minority.
