North Carolina Bill Moving Primaries from May to March Advances

On May 25, the Senate transferred HB 655 from the Rules Committee to the Elections Committee. It moves all partisan primaries from May to March. The switch in committees probably means that the bill is likely to be considered soon in the House. It had already passed the Senate.

  1. Just to clarify the NC process. The NC Senate passed the bill. It was sent to the NC House. Normally, such bills first go to the House Rules Committee. The bill was then sent by the House leadership from the rules committee to the Elections Committee.
