Virginia Democrats Have More Legislative Nominees than Republicans

Virginia elects 100 members of its legislative lower house on November 7, 2017. Here is the list of candidates. There are 28 districts with no Republican nominee, but only 13 districts with no Democratic nominee.

The Green Party has nominees in five districts. The Libertarian Party has nominees in four districts. Seven districts have an independent candidate.

  1. It’s a real shame there was going to be a fifth LP candidate to make the ballot in the 71st; I believe he qualified, but dropped out a week or two ago.

  2. Due to nonstop minority rule gerrymanders —

    What percentage of all seats have winners with under 55 percent of the gerrymander district votes ???

    Very likely under 5 percent of all seats — thus the many rigged districts with no D or R candidates.
