Why can’t there be a set number of signatures to get on a ballot for everyone? Political parties could mail all their members to get the required number and independents could get their own. In the general election the group name can be beside the candidate name.

How about letting candidates file to get on the ballot.
You as a voter could write your party asking who to vote for, or they could send out a message telling you to vote for.
