Challenge Filed Against Libertarian Running for U.S. Senate in New Mexico — 3 Comments

  1. I find it interesting that the LPNM apparently has no one running for governor. Is this because US Rep. Steve Pearce is the likely GOP nominee?

  2. A couple of months ago or so, this site reported voter registration statistics in New Mexico. Throughout 2017, the SOS office broke it out by party, including the Libertarians, the Greens, and other parties recognized in NM. Independents were also broken out. It seems that they now have statistics as of 2/1/2018 that are reported on their website. It appears they are only reporting Republican and Democratic registrations, and none for the Libertarians or the Greens.

Here is a link to the county wide stats as of 12/6/2017:

And here is what appears to be the same report as of 2/1/2018:

Have I not found the right report, or are they deliberately suppressing information regarding third party registration stastics?

  3. The Secretary of State’s office says they want to continue reporting registration data for all qualified parties, but they are having a technical problem that is interfering with that goal. But they told me the number of registered voters in various parties as of February 14, 2018: Libertarian 7,792; Green 4,049; Better for America 1,708; Constitution 360; Independent American 4,646.

The March 1 2018 print issue of Ballot Access News has a chart showing the number of registered voters in each party, in each state. All data is from November 2017 to February 2018, except that Massachusetts can’t furnish any data later than November 2016.
