Candidate Files for U.S. House in Washington’s District 5 with “Trump Populist” as his Ballot Label

Filing for the Washington state primary closes on Friday, May 18. So far four candidates have filed for that seat. One of them is Dave Saulibio, whose ballot label will be “Trump Populist Party.” See this story. Washington lets any candidate choose any partisan ballot label that is no more than 15 characters and is not obscene.

  1. Looks like 5+1+8+1+5 = 20 letters and spaces in TPP

Any *NO Tyrant Trump* Party ???

  2. How can he be a Trumpster and have reducing the national debt as his top issue? Maybe they can also get somebody to run as a ‘Berniecrat’ and be for smaller government.

  3. Modern day Trump “populists” are nothing like the 1890’s Populists that grew from the economic anguish of farmers into a movement that threatened both ruling parties’ dominance of Congress.

That aside, Washington’s limitation on the number of characters in a ballot label is ridiculous, and needs to be challenged in court in my opinion.
