North Dakota Supreme Court Asks for a Response from Secretary of State in Libertarian Recount Case

The North Dakota Supreme Court recently asked the Secretary of State to respond to the Libertarian Party appeal concerning a recount of the June 12 Libertarian primary vote for Secretary of State. Riemers v Jeager, 2018-274. Roland Riemers was the only candidate on the Libertarian primary ballot for Secretary of State. Even though he was unopposed, the law says parties can’t nominate for statewide office unless the candidate gets at least 300 votes. The official vote said he only got 247 votes. Riemers asked for a recount, but the Secretary of State denied that request.

The law, 16.1-16-01, says “A recount must be conducted when any individual failed to be nominated in a primary election by 1% or less of the highest vote cast for a candidate for the office sought.” The Republican who was on the Republican primary ballot received 54,563 votes, and 1% of that number is 546. North Dakota primary ballots for all parties are printed on the same sheet of paper. A voter is told to choose one party column and only cast votes for candidates in that one party column.

North Dakota Supreme Court Asks for a Response from Secretary of State in Libertarian Recount Case — 13 Comments

  1. I just spoke to the chairman of the California Peace and Freedom Party Kevin Akin and he said that the California Green and Peace and Freedom Party are only interested in working with something to the effect of “legitimate” candidates and so that implies that they are not interested in talking to those they pre-judge to not be “real”(?)

The United Coalition USA is not confident of party bosses because we welcome every candidate and certified write-in and we are not biased in the invitation.

  2. What police forces and courts enforce the *laws* of the usparliament / international-parliament / etc. / etc. / etc. ???

Difference between proposed PAPER regimes versus REAL regimes.

Since the USA and State regimes are A-L-L ANTI-Democracy gerrymander oligarch regimes on paper since 4 July 1776

    — NO surprise they ALL have been EVIL/Vicious Monarch/Oligarch Death/Destruction regimes

    — Genocide of American Indian tribes, Slavery, minority oppressions, ecology destruction, insane annual deficits, super-insane accumulated debts, undeclared foreign wars, inflation (to destroy the middle class), etc.

  3. The US Parliament follows all USA and international laws do we are protected under those laws too.

The only difference, is the legitimacy of the paper ballots marked and counted under pure proportional representation (PPR).

So both the California Green/P&F Party’s system might be equally more democratically legimate than the California State’s elections but on a much smaller scale.

Should both the California Green/P&F and the United Coalition’s team be PPR then fine.

It would be like two orchestras, both releasing good albums, so which one would sell better to the voters?

That’s up to the voters to decide.

  4. Again — *parliament* has a GOVERNMENT connection — for about 600 plus years.

How about a name change — USA/World PPR Reform Group ???

  5. Titles are important. In fact a musical band is named “Parliament”.

They chose the word for their own reasons.

We are a like an actual governmental parliament on a tiny, sub-atomic scale.

We may be small, but the election of our USA Parliament uses pure proportional representation (PPR), and votes of confidence for the executives.

The word parliament, used for twenty-three consecutive years by our team, describes us fine.

After such perfect mathematical vote counting under PPR that has been coincidentally the only perfect system for percentages in elections and a long history of candidates collaborating for political free speech for such a long time, it’s easy to stick by the descriptive name.

  6. Have lots of fun with the *parliament* fraud/delusion — even with PPR.

  7. DR, we do have fun. The fun is part of the fuel that brings satisfaction. If you see fraud and delusion, then please post it here. You have implied that the use of the word “Parliament” is unethical.

  8. The one party system in SF and the injustices caused by plurality elections regulated by the State are far more of a violation of ethics than labelling a stack of ballots’ totals counted under pure proportional representation with the word parliament.

Please, get your priorities in order, the situation is urgent.

We are open to suggestions. I like your idea as PPR Reform Group of course. I will spread the idea to our voters and get back to you on this.

  9. Due to the ongoing WORSE AND WORSE ROBOT PARTY HACK M-O-R-O-N-S in SCOTUS

    — any reform must be super-simple AND SUPER-PRECISE — ZERO VAGUENESS.

EXAMPLE – NONE OF THE 9 SCOTUS MATH MORONS COULD DETECT BASIC GERRYMANDER MATH IN THE RECENT 5 PLUS GERRYMANDER CASES —

1/2 OR LESS VOTES X 1/2 RIGGED GERRYMANDER DISTRICTS = 1/4 OR LESS CONTROL.

    — POSSIBLY SETTING THE STAGE FOR CIVIL W-A-R II

    — GEE THANKS MORONS !!! ??? !!!

    PR AND APPV

  10. The Libertarian One for President team have talked about the proposal.

The proposal would be to replace the word “parliament” with the words “World PPR Reform Group”.

We shall drop “USA” from the Demo Rep suggestion “USA/World PPR Reform Group” so not to sound exclusive to USA.

I just got off the phone with Mark Herd [Libertarian] for President and he approved and said: “When you’re through changing, you’re through.”

We are going through changes and so we have no way to predict the next step. But will keep you abreast with anymore developments with the new World PPR Reform Group phrase that Demo Rep coined.
