Yep, a lot of wasted votes… All of a million within an 11 million vote election. The total percentage of the parties that got votes but didn’t get seats, combined, was about 5%.

@Aiden Bavivra isn’t part of US and they have Mixed-member proportional representation which Party seats are more important than Spoiler effect.
The leaders debate did not invite the leader of the Social Democrats because of their low showing in the polls, and because they would have had to invite the leader of the AfD. This is roughly equivalent to holding a debate between Donald Trump and Jill Stein, and excluding Hillary Clinton because if she were invited Chuck Baldwin would have to be invited as well.
