Thirteen Presidential Candidates Qualify for Colorado Ballot by Paying $1,000

The Colorado Secretary of State website now lists candidates for the general election, including presidential candidates. The deadline for candidates of unqualified parties to get on the ballot has passed, and thirteen candidates qualified by paying $1,000.

In addition, Colorado has seven qualified parties, and their presidential nominees will be on the ballot with no filing fee. Not all of them are on the website yet.

The seven qualified parties are: Democratic, Republican, Libertarian, Green, Constitution, Unity, and Approval Voting.

The candidates who qualified by paying the fee, in alphabetical order, are: Brian Carroll (American Solidarity), Mark Charles (independent), Phil Collins (Prohibition), Rocky De La Fuente (Alliance), Dario Hunter (Progressive), Princess Jacob-Fambro (independent), Alyson Kennedy (Socialist Workers), Joseph Kishore (Socialist Equality), Kyle Kopitke (Independent American), Gloria La Riva (Socialism & Liberation), Joe McHugh (independent), Brock Pierce (independent), and Kanye West (independent).

The website also lists declared write-in candidates.

  1. Odd that Libertarians are listed but then have No in the column for met ballot access requirements. None of the other qualified parties are listed.

  2. Jeff, that’s because the party hasn’t submitted its presidential elector candidates yet.

  3. Liberty Green: Gary Swing is a Congressional candidate with the Unity Party in Colorado.

  4. Interesting, I know he was attempting to qualify as a presidential candidate in Vermont.

  5. Gary Swing is a nut who fell out of the GP after its dustup in Colorado a few years ago.

And Phil Collins supports prohibition? There’s Something in the Air Tonight!

  6. The list has been updated to include someone named Jordan “Cancer” Scott, an independent candidate.

  7. I filed for President only in Vermont because there was no cost and I wanted to put the label “Boiling Frog” on the ballot: http://www.boilingfrogparty.wixsite.com/2020

I’m on the ballot for U.S. Representative in Colorado on the Unity Party ballot line: http://www.theswingvote.wixsite.com/unity

I was on the ballot seven times as a Green Party candidate between 1996 and 2018.

The Green Party of Colorado’s ballot line and organizational structure has been hijacked in a hostile takeover orchestrated by Andrea Merida Cuellar, who is now Howie Hawkins’ presidential campaign manager. Merida and her supporters have transformed the now illegitimate “Green Party of Colorado” into a totalitarian regime controlled by a restricted access, heavily censored online council.

Merida’s faction orchestrated a series of Stalinist purges of long time local Green Party chapters, members, organizers, and candidates, taking away their rights to voting, representation, or participation in the state Green Party. This was retaliation for a grievance that Green Party activists filed with the national Green Party against Andrea Merida for authoritarianism and corruption.

See http://www.restoregreenvalues.org for details about the grievance.
