BBC News Article Explains the Difference Between Elections in Canada and the U.S. — 40 Comments

  1. Just did a bit of quick math. If Canada used proportional representation this what the seats would look like (as of right now; counting is still ongoing):

    116 – Conservative
    108 – Liberal
    59 – New Democratic
    27 – Bloq
    18 – People’s Party
    8 – Green
    1 – Maverick
    1 – Free Party

  2. A quick glance at the quick math and my thoughts are “damn good job”.

The One Party likes those numbers.

  3. Canada counts mail in ballots the day after the election. They want to make sure that the voter had not voted in person on election day.

  4. The Brittle Braying Commies (BBC) sure try to make it sound like the Canadian election system is better than the US, yet in every way they mention that the two systems are different, the US system is better, and should move much further on the opposite direction from what the Big Bad Communists …let’s just say heavily imply here, although it’s a lot more than that.

  5. If the paper ballots, by hand, difference is correct , that’s an exception. The US should be like Canada in that respect, and less like it in the myriad of ways the Bloody Botched Commies rebuke the USA for being unlike Canada, in.

  6. I think that a major reason for the differences is the Canadian supreme court. It has been a strong proponent of the right of its citizens to vote and run for political office.

  7. The censorship by Ballot Access News since we first spoke at their headquarters in 1993 has been destructive to the team ever since the internet was privatized and Google launched off our effort in 1997.

Though Richard Winger has no regrets, I am personally confounded, and in deep despair at all the time and opportunities wasted by the dictatorship psychology of BAN towards the Environmentalist Party.

The Environmentalist Party started running candidates in 1983 and in 1986 I joined when Clint Eastwood ran for mayor after reading about our work of running numerous candidates from 1983 to 1986.

  8. I attended Clint’s tea party when he invited the town even though I was in the Environmentalist Party camp.

  9. 1986 = Environmentalist, Tea, Democratic and Republican candidates for Mayor of Carmel California

Thanks to Google and Facebook “click the dot” one-party voting it will be a long time before the world catches on to pure proportional representation.

    ELECTION RESULTS
    —-
USA AND CANADA – BOTH EVIL VICIOUS MINORITY RULE GERRYMANDER REGIMES [DUE TO 1066-1776 BRITS]-

1/2 OR LESS VOTES X 1/2 GERRYMANDER AREAS = 1/4 OR LESS CONTROL.

CANADA – MUCH EVIL WORSE — TOP HACKS BOTH IN PARL AND HOLD EXEC OFFICES >>> DE FACTO TYRANTS.
    —-
    PR – LEGIS
    APPV – EXECS/JUDICS
    TOTSOP

  11. The good news is that Trudeau still leads a minority government. The bad news is that the conservatives didn’t win a majority either. It looks like a very status quo election and a big waste of time and money.

  12. Greenie weenie evildoers want to set up a global communist state that controls everything and everyone in the world in the name of fake science greenie weenie mumbo jumbo. Then they want to implement their global depopulation agenda to reduce global human population to about 666 million or maybe even all the way to zero.

The true not so well hidden agenda is massive human and animal sacrifice to Satan to literally turn the whole world into hell.

  13. Because you keep popping up with your insane communist bullshit, despite promising to leave and never come back, how many times now?

  14. Well, for one thing, elections are “easier” in Canada because there are not a lot of choices to make. Whereas, in the US a ballot can have a multitude of offices and issues from which to choose, usually a voter in Canada just gets a ballot for his district’s candidates for the House of Commons. Easy in, easy out.

  15. I can’t believe that smug schmuck trudeau is still pm. There must of been a lot of cheating up there just like when “they” put dementia joe in.

  16. How do you , who do use a false name, know whether or not Aiden James, who uses his real name, uses an ip anonymizer, or not, motherrapist?

  17. WZ, the Los Angeles County Mini-state elected more than 1350 names, and we’re needing more than 6457 by 2024 to meet our random goal.

The USA Congress shall be expanding closer to the 6000ish number for Congress and Electoral College one day when George Washington’s Article the First gets ratified.

  18. Demo Rep, no way to the male-dominated http://www.ApprovalVotingParty.com, they aren’t going to be electing any female names for exec of the party anytime soon.

Frank Atwood, AppV Party Vice President

No way to AppV anywhere, that’s the most bogus one-party system that gives the biggest majority (usually males) a super majority in almost every case.

Never to one-party AppV system. It’s a fight to the death.

  19. Non binary names? Get that nuclear waste outta here. To even believe such a thing is real is a mental illness in itself.

  20. I’m a big traditionalist ultrareactionary in just about anything, including voting methods, but if joo goo boy with his nonbinary horseshit hates approval voting so much, it can’t be all bad. That only thing could make this go better would be getting shit on my cowboy boot from kicking joo goo ass and a curb stomp to clean my boot off.

  21. Approval Voting — for exec/judic offices — pending Condorcet = RCV done right.

Too many math MORONS on this list to count.
