No Democrat in Indiana US Senate Race

The Indiana U.S. Senate race this year will have only a Republican and a Libertarian on the ballot, since no Democrat filed for the May 2006 primary. Although the Green Party is circulating a statewide petition, that petition must list candidates, and the Greens didn’t put anyone on that petition for U.S. Senate.

No Democrat in Indiana US Senate Race — 4 Comments

  1. Won’t the Democrats skirt the rules, like the major parties always do, and end up running a candidate anyways?

  2. The Indiana Democratic Party Central Committee has until June 30, 2006 to fill the vacancy on the ballot. I expect they will with a loyal party regular. Expect the usual three way race. – Mark W. Rutherford, Chairman, Libertarian Party of Indiana
