Constitution Party Wins Contested Race for Nevada County Clerk-Treasurer

On November 7, Eureka County, Nevada voters elected Jackie Berg to be the new County Clerk-Treasurer. The vote was Berg (Constitution) 389; Karen LaBarry (Republican) 238; Elizabeth Smith (Libertarian) 92.

The Republican nominee had lived in Eureka County for approximately 30 years and had married into a prominent local ranching family. Berg, by contrast, had only lived in Eureka County since 2004. But, she was Deputy County Clerk-Treasurer, and she campaigned very hard. Berg has been a member of the Constitution Party since 2002. In Nevada, the Constitution Party is named the Independent American Party.

To a certain extent, LaBarry took victory for granted, since she was the only major party nominee in the race.

  1. You have to become better known and more out in the open like the other two dummy parties are. they stand for nothing. You seem to stand for what America wants and needs. Please make this known before 2008. LONG BEFORE 2008

  2. FYI Rich,

The IAP also elected another candidate to office= IAP’er Cel Ochoa was elected Constable of Searchlight, NV.

Bill Wilkerson, a IAP’er was elected to the Elko School Board in 2004.

So the Nevada IAP has 3 office holders now.

    HOORAY!!!!!

  3. These are first wins but there are more to come. We are currently working on recruiting 75 candidates for 2008 AD. We are preparing to contact our 44,000 members and start raising funds for the next election cycle. On average our Statewide candidate increased their vote totals by more than double. in 2002 AD we got 7,047 (1.40%) for governor. For Lt. Gov we had 1.31% and 6,609 in 2002 AD and 4.41% and 25,406 this year.

In county races in Washoe County, the second largest county in Nevada we jumped from 25% in two way races to 32% in two way races.

In two races in Clark County we got over 80,000 votes in each contest.

All we need now is money to advertise and we will start electing more and more people.
