On May 14, the Montana Constitution Party held a state convention. It elected new officers and voted to rejoin the national organization of the Constitution Party. In 2008 the Montana Constitution Party had not been affiliated with the national Constitution Party, which is one reason the Montana Constitution Party in 2008 placed Ron Paul on the November ballot as its presidential nominee, instead of Chuck Baldwin. Thanks to Frank Fluckiger for this news.
I am glad that that breach between the state (Montana) party and the national party has healed. Are there other state CPs that remain separated from the national on the basis of that dispute over “sanctity of life” in the party and its platform or over some other internal issue?
Dave,
I believe that only Oregon remains disaffiliated… but I hear there is progress to bringing that state back as National Communications Director Mary Starrett is from there. Anyway, good for Montana. BTW, 2008 Presidential candidate Chuck Baldwin has recently relocated his ministry from Pensacola to Flathead Valley, Montana. Hope he gets involved. Not sure if former CP state legislator Rick Jore will return.

Thanks, Jeff.
Jore set up the MCP simply as an addendum to the Republicans. I suffered from this collaboration when I ran on the Constitution Party ticket for State Senate in Lake County in 2008. Jore was told to drop support even though he was the one who had chosen me, and he did exactly as he was told by R. Jerry O’Neil, while I was still running for the office. He’s a timid fellow, with limited ability, and no fire in his gut.
Then bird-brain O’Neil, his sandled buddy publicly slandered me as a ‘socialist’ because I mentioned a book by Sinclair Lewis, condeming banking scams identical to our own recently, published way back in 1906.
The two of them are petty, dishonest, and not worth crying over!
Jore is now upset he was pushed out of influence with Chuck Baldwin because of Linda Johnson!
Its about time! Welcome back!

This is GREAT NEWS!!! Congratulations to the MT CP and National CP. We continue to build our organization nationally. Be afraid big box parties, be very afraid…
Do we need more parties in Montana? We used to have the Reform party and the Green Party, which are no longer around. Montana is destined to stay a 3 party state.
via email:
The following individuals were elected as Constitution Party state officers in Montana:
Chairman – Lisa Wamsley
Vice-Chairman – Kurtis Oliverson
Secretary – Tom Baird
Treasuer – George Karpati
Parliamentarian – Mark Wamsley
Public Relations Officer – Nancy Jore
Montana (and the U.S.A.) needs a clear choice of a faith based constitutionalist party. Which parties besides the CP fit this bill? Oh yea, there aren’t any others! That’s why we need the CP!
I would like to ask all CP members a couple of questions. What does Article 1, Section 8, paragraph 1 mean where it reads: “The Congress shall have power To…and provide for the…and general Welfare of the United States?”
Also, do you believe Article 1, Section 10, paragraph 3 means that if Congress approves, states may enter into an Agreement to set up a Social Security System, Medicare System, and even a Health Care System? If not, why not?

Thanks, Jeff Becker. Still, no one has answered my 2nd question of “…if Congress approves, states may enter into an Agreement to set up a Social Security System, Medicare System, and even a Health Care System? If not, why not?”
While I read the article you refer me to, I’ll still be waiting to an answer to my 2nd question.
Still no answer to my question to CPers of “if Congress approves (as they have the power to do under Article I, Section 10, Paragraph 3), may states enter into an Agreement to set up a Social Security System, Medicare System, and even a Health Care System? If not, why not?”
I think the reason I’m getting no answers is that many – if not most – of the CPers are really “Conservatives” and are not true “Constitutionalists.” They hide behind the Constitution to practice their true cold-hearted doctines of not allowing the government – even at the state and local level – to “provide for the…general welfare…”
AI, that part of the Constitution does give Congress that authority, yet the way they have used that authority it doesn’t necessarily make it viable and conformist with other parts of the Constitution.
That said, you need to stop stereotyping CP’ers; we don’t all think alike and not all of us like how the national platform is worded the way it is now.
And second off, many of us are working hard to build the party and spread our message while you’re here bitching about how the CP could do this and that when you don’t do jack shit to save this country; you’re almost as bad as Mark Seidenberg.
Do me a favor- before you point out the mote in your brother’s eye, first pull out the one in your own eye.
