This newspaper story suggests that Kathleen Curry, independent candidate for Colorado State House, may win this year’s race in the 61st district. Curry almost won in November 2010 as a write-in candidate. In the November 2010 election, the vote was: Roger Wilson, Democrat, 9,657; Curry, write-in independent, 9,298; Luke Korkowski, Republican, 8,987.
Curry had to be a write-in candidate in 2010 because of a Colorado law that barred independent candidates who had been members of a qualified party during the year before filing. This year, there is no legal barrier to her being on the ballot as an independent.
Colorado voters haven’t elected anyone to the legislature, except Democratic and Republican nominees, since 1900.
Elect 1000 names with 1001ths (.999%) plus one vote of the total votes cast as proof for a total satisfaction level of 99.9% plus 1000 votes (.999 (plus one vote) X 1000 = 99.9% plus 1000 votes.

This is a great story. We have the same problem of the Democrats and Republicans considering Oklahoma their personal plantation and nobody else better try to plant a crop. I am trying to get the Justice Party recognized in OK but under current law it’s next to impossible. So I’m working on getting the law changed by creating coalitions with Libertarians and others.
Scott, you really do need a good tool for working with other parties so that you won’t waste your time.
I can save you a lot of time by explaining that trying to dove tail with a group that blatantly censors its own candidates and that uses plurality elections and single-winner districts is a waste of time.
If you can find a group that builds on the liberty to self-categorize, pure proportional representation and multi-winner districts then you’d find a lot more teamwork and cool people.
Dictator types simply aren’t attracted to such a method.
Several of the Libertarian Party candidates for POTUS have left the L Party. I just got an email from Hon Constitutional Law Minister Mosheh Thezion [All] and he indicated that he switched.
Hon Minister Thezion [All] is one of our better team players, a genius, physicist, fusion and Telsa energy expert. One of our early prime ministers who help the position for ten years, 7th PM Igor Chudov [Libertarian], owner of http://www.algebra.com was a resident of OK for a long time, BTW.
Mosheh Thezion was one of the seventeen L candidates for POTUS in 2012 who were de-linked from the national web site along with all the others when the national Ls wanted to destroy all the L candidates for POTUS except for the one who they favored. The same one POTUS candidate that the owner of BAN also acted biased toward and favored at the blatantly public expense of the other sixteen or so names.
The owner of BAN should not be trusted when it comes to fair elections and pure proportional representation. He has demonstrated to continually act opposite to the interests of fair elections and is not dependable.
I always assumed Ogle was some kid in his parent’s basement, the assumption making it ewasier for me to ignore his obvious obsessive compulsive illness. But when I saw a photo of Ogle and relized he is around my age, it was very disturbing to find Ogle is a middle aged man who is essentially obsessed with his own version of Dungeons and Dragons. In public.
I think there are good political, journalistic and mental health reasons for restricting Ogle’s access to BAN comment threads.
I feel sort of sad for him, but he really does distract from on going real political and journalistic conversation.
@9 yep!

We’re a unity coalition for positive encouragement, and we welcome your interest and participation as a player on our team as we try to grow from 100 to 1000 national members of parliament (MPs) in the 8th USA Parliament:
http://www.usparliament.org
Believe it or not, the USA Parliament’s results are based on real peoples’ cast votes, compiled in an orderly manner and schedule under one set of rules approved by a ruling coalition, of which ballots are marked and kept as proof for your validation and verification.
These are real people and their votes are counted under a shared promise that 50% plus one vote is a majority.
There are not any imaginary characters or acronyms such as NOTA, or imaginary majorities like 2/3rds votes where 1/3 controls the 2/3rds.
Voting systems promoted under Robert’s Rules of Order as used by the Libertarian, American Independent and Boston Tea Parties that BAN supports which allow or require a 2/3rds majority are not permitted under our bylaws – only a simple majority of 50% plus one vote.
We work together as a team and our mathematicians understand that the Sainte-Lague parliament seat distribution system we’ve used, the single transferable vote (STV), ranked choice voting (RCV), Hagnebach-Bischoff method, unity, liberty to self-categorize and other democratic freedoms for seventeen years, is the most mathematically perfect equation known since the early 1900s.
We welcome all people, and we’re like many little fish uniting to eat the big fish (the two-party system).
If you like or agree with anything I’ve just written, please feel free to participate or contact me to learn more.
We’re holding our national convention on July 4th 2012 in Carmel Valley Village Park, California. We’re counting all the ballots cast on August 6th, 2012.
We’re electing our team, the first 1000 consecutively ranked names with votes cast as proof; the 9th USA Parliament – August 6th 2012 to August 5th 2016.
You’re invited! Won’t you join us? You can even participate from anywhere by using the internet.
Thanks! We look forward to having you on our team.

Why do you THINK they called it Google?
We don’t want to be on your team and we don’t want to see your comments. We want you banned from this site just like at IPR and we want you receiving the mental health help you so badly need, most likely on an inpatient basis.
It’s a real shame that Ogle’s comments are allowed to pollute Ballot Access News. It really detracts from the value of an excellent site.
By the way his usparliament link is a commercial site, or at least a weak attempt at one, thus can be banned as commercial spam by even the most ardent free speech zealots.
