On July 10, Chris Thomas, Michigan Election Director, said that in his opinion, nothing prevents Mike Duggan from being a write-in candidate for Mayor of Detroit. Duggan is a leading candidate for Mayor, who was removed from the ballot. One of his opponents is now in court trying to keep Duggan from being a write-in candidate as well. See this story.
