Marijuana Party is Petitioning for Party Status in Nebraska

The Marijuana Party, which seems to be a party organized only in Nebraska, is petitioning to get on the 2016 ballot. The party needs 5,395 valid signatures by August 1, 2016. If it completes the petition by February 1, 2016, it can have its own primary.

  1. Wish these and other folks would stop toking for a moment to wake up and learn the history of this issue to see how they are being manipulated by the made-up word “marijuana” which was fabricated – created – to demonize cannabis and hemp. They should call themselves the Cannabis Party.

  2. I think they’d rather be incorrectly demonized as druggies than incorrectly feared as flesh eaters.

  3. The USA Parliament was petitioning as the Pot Party and Marijuana Parties (and Hemp, Cannabis, make up your own, etc.) since 1995.
We kick off our annual voter registration drive every year on April 20th.

See the first Pot Party video, the flags, petitioning, rally, etc., from this early video,
    “How Google Got It’s Name”:

  4. There used to be a group called the US Marijuana Party. I wonder if this is some of the same people attempting a revival. I sympathize with their position on the issue, but I am sceptical of single-issue parties.

  5. “There used to be a group called the US Marijuana Party.”

They’re still around, though Richard doesn’t think they’re a real party for some reason. This is probably them. They’re also organized in Kentucky, and got a candidate on the ballot in the top-two primary in Washington.

  6. The US Marijuana Party of Vermont isn’t really a party because it isn’t an organization. It has no state officers. It is the ballot label of one person, Cris Ericson, a woman who generally runs for two offices simultaneously. In both 2012 and 2010, she ran for both Governor and U.S. Senator with that ballot label. In 2014, when no US Senate election was up in Vermont, she ran for Governor and US House, although in 2014 she used the label “independent”.

Other than Chris Ericson’s runs, there has been no state in which “US Marijuana” has appeared on a ballot. If I’m wrong, let me know when and where that label ever appeared.

  7. The official position of the pluralists towards non-qualified parties is; “They don’t exist.”

(Thanks, everyone loves a swift kick to the balls, don’t they?)

The official position of the USA Parliament is; “We started the Pot and Marijuana Parties within the 1st USA Parliament in 1995, we love working with/welcoming the offshoots and we continue to count the votes, maintain the vote totals and web pages.

But we at the 9th USA Parliament (and the new International Parliament) only recognize people/names and decisions who work within the single set of guidelines which create pure proportional representation and the annual voter registration drive.

The California Libertarian Party can’t do that, as all other “officially recognized parties” registered of varying sizes in the USA cannot, because they don’t use an inclusive voting system which gives the free speech liberty to every individual person; the 100%.

The Libertarian Party’s talking line is liberty but they can’t grant needed liberty to others unless they pay and sign in with them.

USA State rules create and cement a “me vs. them” and so any entity using single-winner districts and plurality voting, self-destruct and are also hostile to people proclaiming a new party/category or independent.

Look at third parties in California and their reaction for Top Two, and you’ll see the perfect example of how so-called political parties under Winger’s definition react to unifying improvements and progress for the whole.

They react with “they don’t exist”, or they react with hostility and/or lawsuits.

When it comes to working under mathematical fairness, anyone using the wrong voting system will simply self-marginalize themselves. It happend over and over, year after year, and we always hear; “Polls show that THIS year is different, people are fed up with the two parties.”

But the 9th USA Parliament grows every day little by little, we’ve been identifying and attracting team players for twenty years from all walks of life and this works fine.

Our members can think and act on their feet for the good of the all but pluralists repeat the same mistakes year after year, and they still can’t figure out why they win few elections and they continually belittle and degrade the proper systems, even when our team members win.

In 2014, three of our thirty-six United Coalition members won seats in the California Assembly. That’s pretty good percent from a sub-atomic group of outsiders/losers.

But teamwork, unity and victory is of no use to dictators in single-winner elections, it’s only useful for us team players, humble people who know nobody is more important than the team – the all – the whole.

The USA Parliament has been doing this for 20 consecutive years and we enjoy the fruits of our labor every day when we work with many diverse people from around the world in a unifying method for thinking and acting in politics.

Won’t you join us? Sign up today and be a part of a team working for the whole, not just for one small group with a certain word by their name who proclaims incorrectly that they alone are better than everyone, including new initiatives, because “they don’t exist”.
