In Canada, the citizens in territories (Yukon, Nunavut, Northwest) elect members to the national parliament. We should do something to give some voice to our territories. Perhaps one representative each (and one electoral vote?) for them? But then also, it would be a great mistake to give so much weight to a very lightly populated place such as the US
Virgin Islands. That would be creating a “Rotten Borough” like those which created problems in Britain many years ago.
We still have two Incorporated Territories that are not organized. They are the remainder of Territory of Hawai’i
and the remainder of the Territory of Michigan.
The main part of the remainder of the Territory of Michigan lies in Pacific Ocean and includes the Washington Islands.
The remainder of the Territory of Hawai’i includes the Island
of Palmyra Atoll and Kingman Reef that was prior to Stathood
of Hawai’i in 1959, part of the City and County of Honolulu.
