Ventura did not endorse Sanders. He said he supported Sanders challenging Clinton in the Democratic Party since it would force Clinton to debate. Ventura said he did not think Sanders had a chance to be nominated (between slim and none), but that it could open up an opportunity for another independent next June (for example, Ventura).
