Donald Trump Has Had Four Partisan Affiliations — 5 Comments

  1. Essentially he registers in a political party that is not in control of the White House, so through the Clinton adminstration he was not a Democrat, through the Bush administration he was not a Republican, and through the Obama administration he was not a Democrat.

  2. What happens if The Donald wins the GOP nomination and the general election next year? Will he re-register as a Democrat while in the White House?

  3. Does anyone know if any of the other candidates have changed parties recently?
If the Republican leadership wants to keep Trump out of debates, they need to just make a rule that one must have been a Republican for at least four years.

  4. Dwight Eisenhower was almost certainly a registered independent on the day he was nominated for president by the Republican Party in 1952. He was a New York resident, and New York won’t let voters switch partisan affiliations unless they do it in the year before the election. He had always been a registered independent since he was old enough to vote.

  5. Does Trump have a 10 year old brain — affected by the latest political wind[storm] ???
