On November 15, Donald Trump said he favors the existing operation of the electoral college, even though on Sunday evening on television he had said the opposite. See this story.
On November 15, he said that the existing systems protects the small states. This is ironic, because Trump carried seven of the ten most populous states. Among the states with at least 15 electoral votes, Trump carried Texas, Florida, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Georgia, Michigan, and North Carolina. By contrast, Hillary Clinton only carried California, New York, and Illinois.

December 5, 2016. Will they select 55 electors to meet
on December 19, 2016?

Office of Profit since the year 1852. Now we have 55 offices at large in California. Now the rate of pay at $10
a day. At one point in time the pay was the same as members of the assembly.

I personally support the Electoral College myself. It looks like the President-elect has come around. If the EC were to be abolished, this country would be under the permanent control of socialist-dominated big urban centers.
