Washington Secretary of State Describes December 19 Meeting of Presidential Electors in Olympia — 2 Comments

  1. Swipes at Electoral College (“Faithless electors”, ratification of NPV) are direct threats to the continued stability of two party system. Washington can be proud.

  2. It is interesting that the $1000 fine was enacted following the last faithless elector in Washington in 1976. It is also interesting that the faithless elector in 1976 is now a state senator.

Washington should choose its electors by Congressional district, using Top 2, but instead of a political party preference let the elector candidate express a candidate preference.
