New York Town Coucilmember Changes Registration from Republican to Libertarian

Mike Becallo, an elected town councilor in Cicero, New York, has changed his registration from Republican to Libertarian. See this story. The office is partisan. Cicero has a population of 31,632 and is in Onondaga County, the same county as Syracuse.

  1. Now if only some of the more progressive Democrat elected officials could show the same courage and decide to switch to the Green Party, then we’d be knocking the so-called “Two Party System” down a few pegs on both the economic left and right.

  2. yes, and hopefully some will join the Prohibition Party. And hopefully some more momentum can be built for minor parties in New York State.
