A ghetto district with almost zero Elephants ???
This is probably an example of a very unpopular candidate getting the Democratic line in an extremely partisan district and then the local Democratic activists getting behind a “real” Democrat who happens to be running on an independent line.
Both candidates are members of the St. Louis City Democratic committee. The overall committee picked one of the committee members and the other ran for the seat as an independent.
