County Republican Party in West Virginia Believes Any Republican Candidate in a Primary Who Asks Democrats to Switch Registration is Breaking the Law

According to this story, the Republican Party of Jefferson County, West Virginia, seems to feel that it might be illegal for anyone running in a Republican primary to communicate with Democratic voters, asking them to switch their registration from Democratic to independent so as to be able to choose a Republican primary ballot and vote for the candidate who asked them to switch. Independents can vote in major party primaries in West Virginia.

The Republican candidate who did this has a primary opponent, and the opponent is on the Republican Party County Committee.

  1. Is the 1st Amdt IN FORCE in DARK AGE WV ???

Does a Union Army 2 have to liberate WV again — as in 1861-1863 by Union Army 1 ???

  2. A voter who switches to vote in the Republican primary for county commissioner will be barred from voting for the Democratic nominee for US Senator, US Representative, or state legislature.

This is one of the most significant failings of the segregated partisan primary system which seems to be favored by some. You can’t simply vote for the candidate you think will do the best job for the position they seek, you have to calculate who might win the nomination without your support. That is a game for politicians – not for ordinary decent citizens.

  3. Is a Christian who wishes to participate in a Christian religious service on Sunday the victim of segregation because he or she must choose one church to attend on that particular Sunday? Maybe the worshiper prefers the choir at the Methodist church, but prefers the preacher at the Baptist church, and the organist at the Presbyterian church. How cruel that the worshiper must choose just one church to attend on any particular Sunday.

  4. How about separation of HACKS and “State* — for the last 6,000 plus years ???
