Green Party Member Elected to Dane County, Wisconsin, Board of Supervisors

On April 3, Green Party member Yogesh Chawla was elected to the Dane County, Wisconsin, Board of Supervisors, from district 6. He defeated his opponent by 52.6% to 47.4%. The election was non-partisan.

  1. Dane County uses Top 2, with the primary contingent on there being more than two candidates. There are 37 supervisor districts. Three had primaries, and one other had a contested general election. Thirty three districts were uncontested.

    In District 6, Chawla trailed the leader 40% to 37% in the primary. He would have lost under plurality, and would likely lost in an IRV election.

  2. Libertarian Party member Brian Defferding was also elected to the Winnebago County Board of Supervisors, in an uncontested race.
