Washington state’s top-two primary on August 7, for the 2nd U.S. House district, was so close, that there will be a recount. It will be conducted the week of September 3-7.

Here is a link to the election returns. The obvious first place finisher is incumbent Democrat Rick Larson. The second place finisher after the original count is the Libertarian, Brian Luke, who leads independent Gary Franco by 51 votes.

  1. What day was last snail mail ballot received and then counted ???

Snail mail is ONLY a substitute for election DAY voting in person.

  2. @Demo Rep,

County election officials certified their results on August 21. The SOS will certify the results on August 24, which will officially trigger the recount.

Each county determines when it will conduct its recount. The recount dates in two counties will occur in late August. I don’t know where Richard Winger got his information.
