Prohibition Party 2020 Presidential Nominee Withdraws

Recently, Bill Bayes withdrew as the Prohibition Party nominee for president in 2020.  He had been nominated on November 13, 2018 in a conference call of party activists.  A new such telephone conference will be held soon to replace him.  Bayes lives in Mississippi and had been the party’s vice-presidential nominee in 2016.  Thanks to Rick Knox for this news.

Prohibition Party 2020 Presidential Nominee Withdraws — 12 Comments

  1. Any reason? I thought I read somewhere that he was interested in the Constitution Party nomination.

  2. Did BB start drinking those evil spirits ???

BAAAD olde booze = nothing compared to New Age drugs ???

  3. I don’t support the Prohibition Party, but I do feel bad for the bad things that have hit the party these last few decades. Losing a presidential nominee would be a blow for any third-party, let alone one that can’t have more than 5,000 people as paid members. Who was the VP nominee, and likely now presidential nominee?

  4. Rick Knox was apparently a former party chair. According to Ron Gunzburger over at politics1.com/p2020.htm, the new ticket is:
C.L. Gammon (Tennessee) – Presidential Nominee
Phil Collins (Nevada) – Vice Presidential Nominee

  5. The United Coalition USA brings all parties and independents working as a team as a PPR Electoral College, not roadblocks, but the L.P. party bosses don’t want you to know.

  6. Us men are uniting to change history by voting for a female for POTUS, with consecutively ranked alternating genders thereafter, to bring a unifying message to the whole.

  7. In 2008 we brought the ticket “A female/Nott for President” but the party bosses consisted of a bunch of males voting for males and viciously slandered the best female candidate for POTUS who then lost by a narrow margin.

  8. In 2010 the Alabama Libertarian Party bosses viciously slandered the Constitution Party nominee Chelene Nightingale and other female candidates and they were heartbroken.

  9. Rick Knox is currently still the national chairman. Members of the executive committee have proposed Gammon and Collins as the new ticket, but it as yet to be officially confirmed.

  10. Hi Richard,
Have an informal update on the above comments re the Prohibition Party and its candidates. I have received phone calls and just today a letter from CL Gammon, who is the current candidate for President according to his phone calls and the letter. They have requested that the Independent Party of Florida consider nominating him for President and to run under the banner of the IND Florida with an interesting side note about state electors. This is a very interesting request due to who and what the Prohibition Party is (latest info we could glean indicated perhaps 50 members and we don’t know if that is national or what), and our executive committee having read their Platform find it radically interesting to the point that they have stated I should respond to Mr Gammons communications, obtain a bio of him and the current status of their party nationally and in his home state of Tennessee. The committee however has expressed no interest in Mr Gammons request and wish my actions to continue only as a fact finding activity.

P.S, If you wish an update on the status of IND Florida for inclusion in your newsletter, please let us know and
    we will forward same.
