  1. American Shopping Party? that’s new to me. There isn’t even a Wikipedia entry.

  2. They are the west coast affiliate of New York’s The Rent Is Too Damn High party.

  3. Aloha Aina and American Shopping Party are two of the goofiest names I have ever heard of for political parties, and I have heard some goofy ones over the years, such as the Blue Enigma Party.

  4. The Aloha Aina Party has been around for a while, but this is the first time they’ve been politically active. I believe they used to be secessionist in nature.

  5. There was once a Pansexual Peace Party. I remember that their motto was: “Sex is good. Sex is great. Yeah sex.”

  6. How many come and gone parties in the USA since 1776 ???

    — or even on Mother Earth since Adam and Eve ???

some/many being gone the very hard way – WARS/revolutions.

  7. Apparently the correct spelling of the party is the Aloha ʻĀina Party, which means something like “love the land.” Without the diacritics, it would mean something different.
