No South Carolina Independent Petition for President Succeeded

On July 20, independent presidential candidate Jade Simmons submitted a South Carolina independent presidential petition. July 20 at noon is the deadline. She is the only person who had submitted such a petition, but she only submitted 1,471 signatures, far short of the 10,000-signature requirement.

South Carolina already has the Republican, Democratic, Libertarian, Green, Constitution, United Citizens, Independence, Alliance, Labor, and Working Families Parties on the ballot. Although Kanye West did not submit a petition, it is possible that one of those parties might nominate him.

No South Carolina Independent Petition for President Succeeded — 15 Comments

  1. United Citizens and Independence parties are the only real possibilities, I doubt working families will nominate anyone and the others already have candidates.

  2. Would love to see the South Carolina CP nominate Kanye. I hear through the grapevine that one or both Carolina affiliates is unhappy with the Blankenship nomination. We shall see.

  3. I figured that there was no way that Kanye was going to get 10,000 valid petition signatures in South Carolina that quickly.

  5. If the Constitution party’s chapter in South Carolina nominates Kayne West they may want to pressure the headquarters to also follow with the nomination and revoke their approval for Blakenship. If that happens they would want to have William Mohr remain as Vice President candidate as he would be able to effectively promote party’s values. By the way Constitution party’s chapter in Virginia is also trying to nominate it’s candidate by end of July. They currently do not have ballot access though hope to have that on hand by the deadline. Maybe they too would consider Kanye West.

  6. Kanye West said to Z93 JAMZ radio personality Kris Kaylin ahead of his July 19 campaign rally in South Carolina. “Now, we have Michelle Tidball, who is a Christian pastor out of Wyoming, who is my running-mate, but she would be open to taking another position [in his cabinet] if we found another running mate.” From there, Kanye revealed how the initials of South Carolina – “S.C.” – presented an alternative. “You know who should be my running mate? Shawn Carter,” said Kanye, referencing Jay-Z’s birth name.

  7. I am utterly bewildered and disgusted that Kanye did not get 10k valid. How could this happen?! I bet he came very close.

  8. Kanye may be pro-life, but I am not sure if Kanye is in line with the rest of the Constitution Party’s platform.

  9. The Constitution Party’s platform is irrelevant. Don Blankenship is not campaigning on any single part of it other than his beef with the judicial system and Cocaine Mitch. Look at his website. Not one single issue listed: https://www.donblankenship.com/

  10. It would be interesting to see if Constitutional Party of Virginia chooses him as their candidate. If they do they could boost their chances of getting the signatures to get ballot access. If that happens then other chapters of Constitutional party if not the party as a whole could also have him as their candidate. That would make some breaking news! Two polls were realized recently that show West taking 2 % and 8 % in the presidential race. Please
    see below.

Of course one needs to see if West has the stamina to stay in the race. There are already whispers of him dropping out of the race. Hopefully he stays on the race. I am no fan of hard right parties (l am more center right) but l don’t mind if Constitutional party helps shake up the system.

  11. Word has it that kanye actually did have enough signatories and just did not realize that the deadline was at noon.
