Vermont held primaries on August 11. In the Democratic primary for Governor, David Zuckerman, a long-time leader of the Progressive Party, won the Democratic nomination. He is currently the Lieutenant Governor. When he was elected Lieutenant Governor in 2018, his ballot label was “Progressive/Democrat”. It is not known what his ballot label will be in November 2020. But it will be “Progressive/Democrat” if that is what he desires.

It’s possible that Zuckerman didn’t win the Progressive primary as a write-in, which would change the possibilities for what party label he could use
Vermont is still counting the write-in votes for the Progressive Primary for Governor but as of now Zuckerman is a little short of winning the Progressive primary as a write-in candidate and Cris Ericson currently has a small lead – https://electionresults.vermont.gov/Index.html#/state
Okay, those totals look better for Zuckerman’s chances of surpassing Ericson, even considering there’s a small cluster of Phil Scott write-ins (which might be in the low 30s but I’d need to put the write-in vote list in Excel to add it up)
I’m also guessing that the normal standard for being nominated as a write-in still applies for the candidates who didn’t beat a candidate on the ballot. Since the standard is “write-in votes equaling half of the votes required on a petition” and there’s no actual petitions this year
Zuckerman’s surpassed Ericson by 7 votes. 20 write-ins left to count, unless there’s some shenanigans he should have both labels secured.
