  1. I was surprised to see that all the candidates for US Representative appear to live in Vermont, given the fact that there was no petition requirement and out-of-state people are allowed to run for Congress from other states.

  2. I briefly considered running for US Rep from Vermont just for the fun of it (I live in the midwest), but I decided not to bother with it.

  3. Stimulation for ballot printer biz in VT or what ???

How many of the 22 will be 0.1 or less pct folks in Nov 2020 ???

    NON-PARTISAN exec/judic via AppV – pending Condorcet.

  4. I actually considered filing. I had a running mate, but only one elector. My elector was not able to convince anyone else to join her. Oh well. Best of luck to all those that filed!

  5. RE: Vermont congressional candidates – what is their filing fee and petitioning requirement? I might have to consider that for 2022 since I lived in Stowe for several years; learned how to ski there. Good memories.

  6. Jeff, this year cause of Covid, there was no filing fee or petition. Usually the petition is 500 sigs I believe. Never a fee

  7. Too bad I’m not old enough to run for POTUS yet. Otherwise I would have filed just for the lulz.

  8. You don’t have to be old enough, Vermont (I’m pretty sure) doesn’t require you to be constitutionally eligible for president to be on the ballot, you just needed three electors.

  9. LG —

How about adding Putin, XI and other foreign killers [Cuba, Iran, NK, Afghan, etc.] to be USA Prez names on VT ballots ???

IE – TOTAL ballot joke in MORON RED commie VT.

  10. Says the joke who spams BAN comment sections with unreadable garbage. Get a life, dude.

  11. I suspect that he is not all there in his head. Maybe he took too much drugs. That’s’ why though l like the libertarian party l have a tough time agreeing with them with regards their drug policy. Prefer other centrist parties.

  12. I’m surprised that Dario Hunter isn’t on the ballot. He seemed to have had no issue with Colorado, I’d assume that Vermont would have been easier. I guess finding 3 electors in a state that small would still be a roadblock.

  13. Well a lot of the candidates that are running as independents would probably feel that it is better to have ballot access to 1 or 2 states. Maybe they are running for President to help gain publicity or attention to a cause that is dear to them. For Mark Charles that could be issues concerning native Americans. Jade Simmons only has ballot access to Oklohama. For that state she needed to pay 30,000 USD few. Yet she did not bother getting ballot access to Vermont and Colorado. Rudy Reyes from Marijuana party has just ballot access in Minnesota. Again here his party may be content with just that and may feel that is sufficient to help promote legalization of marijuana in all US states. The Transhuman party does not even bother getting ballot access. Maybe they get enough promotion in the primary process.

For Dario Hunter, l feel that he is just running because he is bitter about the primary process of the Green Party. He is rightfully so from what l read. He may just want to let Green Party know that they should not play dirty tricks in order to get their guy (Howie Hawkins) get the nomination.

  14. With 22 candidates how can you possibly select just one? Approval Voting would work very well in this situation…

  15. The listed link to “General Election Candidstes” appears to go to a list of primary election candidates, with no presidential candidates listed.

  16. For whatever reason, the Vermont Secretary of State’s posted candidate listing won’t load on my computer, but Blake sent me a copy, updated as of August 21. It lists 19 candidates. Donald Trump and Joe Biden aren’t listed yet, and Mark Charles is not listed. My vice presidential hopping mate David Olszta and I are listed with the label “Boiling Frog,” just ahead of the Green Party’s nominee. David Olszta and I both former Green Party candidates. I confirmed with the Secretary of State’s office today that the label Boiling Frog will be printed on the ballot.

Keith McCormick is listed with the label “Bull Moose” and H. Brooke Paige are listed as “Grumpy Old Patriots” with his running mate Thomas James Whitmer.

  17. It appears that Mark Charles did not make the list. Gloria LaRiva is listed as Liberty Union rather than PSL. VT Progressive Party does not seem to have a nominee.
