Gloria La Riva Now Has Enough Valid Signatures in Rhode Island — 20 Comments

  1. So how many other candidates / who else is on the Rhode Island ballot? I know that the Libertarians are now on all 50 states and DC. Also when is the deadline for Rhode Island?

  2. Gloria and the PSL have done really well this election for not being a bigger third party. I’m interested to see how many votes they’ll garner this year.

  3. I think Don Blankenship will qualify for the RI ballot. They probably just have not finished checking his signatures.

  4. Gloria LaRiva ranks 3rd for the alternative party candidates in terms of ballot access electoral votes with 191, Rocky is close behind in 4th with 186 possible EC votes, and Blankenship is in 5th with only 166

  5. How many 0.1 or less PCT Prez candidates in Nov 2020 ???

Answer – enough to keep FEC staff and some BAN posters busy for weeks.

14-1 EQUAL ballot access cases — about ZERO — as since 1968 — 52 years — mere unlucky 13 Prez cycles.

  6. Wow. That is hard to believe that Gloria La Riva is in 3rd place for number of possible electors in regard to ballot access. How many ballots is she going to appear? Anyone have a list?

I did not even hear about any ballot access drives going on for Gloria La Riva or The Party for Socialism and Liberation.

  7. The numbers I have of states for each candidate are 32 for Hawkins, 18 for Blankenship, 16 for Rocky, 16 for Pierce, 14 for La Riva, and 12 for Kanye. Everybody else with 7 or less.

  8. Does anyone understand why the Rhode Island SOS website is showing the “YES” indicator differently for all the candidates that appear to have 1000 + signatures in? For example for the American Solidarity Party, she is showing “YES” under the Column “On Ballot”, but there is no “YES” indicator for the LP electors. They only have a “Yes” under “QBP”, which means “Qualified for Ballot Placement.”

  9. Chris- I think its 17 for Blankenship. That map is not accurate. He’s on in Tennessee, but he’s off in Wyoming & Washington.

  10. Well, I know the Constitution Party hired a top notch paid petition circulator who had a long history with the Constitution Party, to gather signatures there, and being that they only needed 1,000 valid, and being this person would have arrived in RI with plenty of time to finish, I would be quite surprised if they do not make it.

  11. I got the real scoop on the Constitution Party petition in Rhode Island. It got canceled, apparently because somebody in the Constitution Party in Rhode Island failed to fill out and submit some paper work that was supposed to be done weeks before the petition drive could start.

  12. Cody, my count for Blankenship is 18. It’s not based on the wikipedia article which has some inaccuracies.

TomP, I’m more interested in the fact that they aren’t showing a thousand signatures for Hawkins yet. That number doesn’t seemed to have moved any for several hours. Did they not make it?

  13. ” got the real scoop on the Constitution Party petition in Rhode Island. It got canceled, apparently because somebody in the Constitution Party in Rhode Island failed to fill out and submit some paper work that was supposed to be done weeks before the petition drive could start.”

Lol, no wonder why they’re dying off. 😂

  14. What “Constitution Party of Rhode Island?” no such thing exists. Mario Mariotti, the former Eastern States Regional Chairman, was setting up facebook page templates and actively trying to get something going in his neighboring state, but then they (CP National and the CP Mass Chair) shafted him at their national convention.

  15. The American Solidarity Party candidates actually got more write-in votes than Castle in RI in 2016. That’s actually part of why I really wanted to push for RI ballot access for ASP this year. So happy we pulled it out.
