The ACLU is awesome. This is one of many reasons why.
And they are right. The “top two” idiocy just results in many “general elections” where there are only two Democrats or two Republicans on the ballot to choose from. And you can not even do a write-in vote then. The “top two reformers” just want to make a terrible electoral system even worse.

Remember that “top two” (well, in slightly different form) is the system that elected David Duke to the Louisiana state house. Given our current state of affairs, widespread use of Top Two would probably result in the election of several David Dukes.
That’s the best argument for top two I ever heard. That the aclu is against it is the second best. I would now endorse top two except that the time for elections gas passed. As our perfect LORD AND SAVIOR TRUMP has revealed it’s time to throw out all ballots and to stand by armed and ready to keep Him in office forever by whatever means required and at any cost.
