In March 2020, there were more registered independents in the nation than there were registered Republicans. However, since then, the Republican share of the registration (in the states that have partisan registration) has increased from 28.87% to 29.51%, whereas independent registration has declined from 29.09% to 28.38%.

  62. There are 55 million registered Republicans total. There are 72 million registered Democrats total. There are 42 million registered Independents. In the 2020 election there was a record turnout of 67%. Someone who understands Trump-math please tell me how Trump got to over 70 million votes? Obviously, Trump is the one who padded the votes and committed gross voter fraud.
    You can easily get to Biden’s total from the number of Democrats who voted, but even if 100% of Republicans voted Trump, he’d still have to pickup almost 20 million votes outside of the GOP to get to 70 million. There is no way he got that number.

  63. There a lots of states that do not register by party. Around half (or close that that) the states do not have partisan voter registration. There is no such thing as a Registered Democrat or a registered Republican in Virginia, Alabama, Ohio, Indiana, Texas, Washington, and some other states.

  64. Well for starters, no one is obligated to vote for the party they register with so you shouldn’t assume that all registered democrats voted democrat or turned out at the same rate. You also can’t assume how all the registered independents voted. Even if zero registered democrats voted for Trump, which isn’t the case, that’s still 97 million republicans and independents for him to get 70 something million votes out of. That doesn’t even require any “Trump math” and before you start exploring how many of the democrats registrations are fake e.g. Fictitious person, same person registered multiple times, non citizens, underage, disqualified felons, pets, and so on.

  65. By ‘Trump Math’ what I mean is, how does a President like Trump with a 38% approval rating get more votes in this election than Reagan did in his 1984 landslide? Reagan’s approval rating was 53% and he got 54.5 million votes. Lyndon Johnson, with an approval rating over 60%, received only 42 million votes and won a landslide over Barry Goldwater. Trump’s number just isn’t credible and he has a history of fraud and malfeasance. It doesn’t add up. The most likely scenario is that Biden actually won in a landslide and Trump committed massive voter fraud padding his vote by about 11 million. Also — were you out on election day? The lines weren’t long in most states and a high percentage of the early vote went to Biden. It doesn’t make sense. You can rationalize it any way you want, but the only places where there were lines was where there were tens of thousands of people lining up to vote Trump out.
