Alabama Independent Candidate Elected to Limestone County Commission

On November 3, voters in Limestone County, Alabama, elected LaDon Townsend to the County Commission. He had not wanted to run as an independent, but last year the local Republican Party refused to permit him to file in the Republican primary. See this story. Limestone County is in northern Alabama and borders Tennessee.
