Nevada Bill for a Presidential Primary

On April 8, the Nevada Assembly Legislative Operations & Elections Committee passed AB 126. It sets up presidential primaries for major parties in Nevada. They would be on the first Tuesday in February. The bill seems to say that any candidate recognized by his or her party may get on the ballot just by filing a declaration of candidacy. Thanks to Steve Kamp for this news.

Nevada Bill for a Presidential Primary — 12 Comments

  1. Richard:
So what is the current requirement to become a Major Party in Nevada?

  2. Biden loves the 2024 prez primary schedule ???

Still having frozen SMALL States IA and NH at start ???

  3. Most Democrats, probably including Biden, would prefer to have more diverse states earlier on. Biden came in 4th and 5th in IA and NH so most likely he doesn’t have any particular attachment to those states. Republicans tend to prefer keeping IA and NH at the start, as do some bi/nonpartisan civic interests in those particular states.

  4. What Donkey will dare challenge/compete against 2024 Biden ???

Sanders again — OLDE senile S vs OLDE senile B ???

    PR
    APPV
    TOTSOP

  5. It will depend on how popular or unpopular he becomes over the next 3 years, how his health holds up, and lots of other things.

  6. Biden is not running in 2024. It’s more likely he resigns or dies before that point. Otherwise, Kommie Harris is the nominee.
Bernie Sanders is 117 years old with health issues probably due to being constantly angry. He’s not running in 2024. He can retire in one of his many houses.

  7. He already announced he’s running. He’ll probably win again and complete a successful second term, too. Harris will be president 2029-2037.
