The Indiana U.S. Senate race this year will have only a Republican and a Libertarian on the ballot, since no Democrat filed for the May 2006 primary. Although the Green Party is circulating a statewide petition, that petition must list candidates, and the Greens didn’t put anyone on that petition for U.S. Senate.
Won’t the Democrats skirt the rules, like the major parties always do, and end up running a candidate anyways?
There are somewhere between 12 and 50 Greens in the entire state of Indiana. That’s not the just active ones, that’s the whole total.
The Indiana Democratic Party Central Committee has until June 30, 2006 to fill the vacancy on the ballot. I expect they will with a loyal party regular. Expect the usual three way race. – Mark W. Rutherford, Chairman, Libertarian Party of Indiana
Respekt! Ein wirlich gelungene Seite.
