Woohoo!!!
Go kinky. Does Texas Election code specify a Majority or Plurality?
Also, do you know what was Jesse Ventura polling at this point in time before his election?
That’s a remarkable showing by Werner, considering there are two high-profile independents in the race.
Plurality only is required in the gubernatorial election. I predict the next governor will win with 36% of the vote (hopefully Kinky). I think I recall that Ventura only got up to +20% a few weeks before the election. We’ve got 7 weeks left. But there will be only one debate including Gov Rick Perry. Unlike Ventura who had 7 debates with the incumbent and Dem challenger. Unfortunately the Libertarian candidate is not being allowed to debate with Perry.
There was no incumbent in the ’98 Minnesota governor’s race. Now-U. S. Sen. Norm Coleman was the GOP nominee, and Hubert Humphrey III was the Dem nominee.
The vote was Ventura 37%; Coleman 35%; Humphrey 28%. A lot of younger folks took advantage of MN’s same-day voter registration; this likely made the difference for “The Body.”
