He surfs the internet looking for solace. He comes across the Daily Mirror cover. It helps him. He laughs at all of “those dumb Red State fools”. The pleasure derived from this is hollow, fleeting.
He spends the next few days avoiding the fact of the president’s re-election, starting arguments with strangers and blaming “those ignorant masses” for the result. He has fantasies about moving to Canada.
But he hates hockey.
As time passes he successfully completes the grieving process. He has come to accept the fact of the president’s re-election. But he is left with a question. It burns within and won’t leave him alone. It has plagued him since election day. A question that he continues to ask himself, of Bush voters ……
